This sewing and applique lap desk helps reduce neck and wrist fatigue when working on small intricate sewing projects. It is simple to adjust the angle and height of the top to afford the most comfort while using it. My wife is a quilter, and she and her friends gave me a lot of input into the design. Things she considered essential were: easy adjustment, sturdy design, top designed for pinning objects, magnets under the bottom tray to keep the scissors and tweezer from slipping around, a magnet for pins and needles, and storage for 3 spools of thread. When the desk is folded, it is 4" tall. It is perfect for my wife to do sewing work work on the couch while watching TV vs. having to be in her sewing room or office.
A unique feature I added was a lip that can be flipped up to hold a book, tablet or phone. The lip is flush for sewing and writing, and flipped up to keep things like tablets and phones from slipping off. There area similar lap desks available on-line, but none have all the features this one has.
My wife loves it, and her sewing friends do too.
Note: I recently moved the adjustment knobs to the left side. This change is not shown in the photos.
PS My wife just opened an ETSY store to sell some of her vast fabric stash, and is selling at good price. If you are interested in a good deal on fabric, please visit her shop at: https://www.etsy.com/shop/cozy4quilts.
She is in the process of adding more stock, so if there is something specific you are looking for, feel free to send her a note. She might have what you want.
